Who We Are
AfTAD is a consulting partner in trade and development committed to promoting sustainable trade, economic transformation, and institutional development across the African continent. Established in 2025 and headquartered in Kampala, Uganda, AfTAD is designed to serve as a catalytic platform that empowers governments, regional blocs, private sector entities, and development partners to foster inclusive trade and development strategies.
AfTAD is born out of the need to address the increasing demand for technical, policy, and institutional support in the fields of trade facilitation, regional integration, customs modernization, and development project management across Africa.
With the growing momentum around the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the transformative agenda set out in Agenda 2063, AfTAD positions itself as a bold, innovative, and expert-driven entity that will drive Africa's trade and development vision through tailored consulting services.

Governance Structure
AfTAD operates under a robust and accountable governance framework designed to ensure transparency, strategic alignment, and effective delivery of its mandate across Africa.
Board of Directors
The apex governance organ responsible for strategic oversight and policy direction, approving annual plans, budgets, and major investments while ensuring risk management and compliance.
Executive Management Team
Composed of four Directors and led by the Director General who reports to the Board of Directors, ensuring effective operational management and strategy execution.
